Performers Below the Street and the High Street
A friend told me a story once about street kids asking for alms in some countries. According to him, he has seen children who were forced to sing at train stations or on the street when in fact they are blind, he said that the people behind this believes that the more they look poor, hopeless and sick the more people will give them money. In some places however like in the countries in Europe or in the US, mature people play instruments on the streets as well, you’ll be amazed that they know how to play guitars or even a selmer saxophone and doesn’t look like they are poor, they just want to entertain and it just so happens that people passing by show their appreciation by giving money.
