My mom worked so hard all her life. Sometimes I’m sure that she wondered where the next meal was coming from.  When life was a little easier, she always tried to tuck away the leftovers for a rainy day. Can you imagine our shock when we discovered that Mother had socked enough away for a lot of rainy days. She never touched her savings, preferring to try to forget that there was any money there at all. The interest just kept multiplying. Now that she is gone, how we wish we had helped her more. If she had had one of the tax accountants in sydney working for her, we would not be trying to sort out things now. And she would have been able to enjoy those rainy days.
