Eminis For Small Day Traders
Emini S&P was first introduced to day traders on September 9, 1997. It was brought to us by Chigaco Mercantile Exchange. Eminis are stock market index futures contracts. Day trading Eminis with the Emini Academy is done through the Globex trading platform also provided for by CME. When it was launched, small day traders who only had little to invest weren’t so excited about it. It was valued at $500 times the price of an S&P 500 stock index. But as years went by, the notional value of one contract went down to just $50 times the value of an S&P stock index. Since then, it was no longer just an option for big time day traders.
