Epilepsy research in North America on Women with Epilepsy
An epilepsy research in North America on women with epilepsy suggests that women with epilepsy should plan their pregnancy carefully. If a woman has epilepsy and is planning to get pregnant, she should not do it right away, instead make a plan. Women with epilepsy may not be very good candidates to become pregnant as their condition may be inherited and might even cause birth defects to child. Many women with epilepsy gave birth to babies with birth defects such as cleft pallet. So, before a woman with epilepsy plans to get pregnant, especially those who are taking antiepileptic drugs, they should think about the consequences that may happen.
