Saving Precious Photographs After Water Damage
The loss of precious family photographs, scrapbooks and memorabilia is what brings them to tears. While it might seem unlikely when facing piles of soggy, mud-spattered photos, papers and other valuables, saving them may be feasible by following a few easy steps. Most pictures, negatives and color slides could be cleaned and air dried. If you’ve time and space correct away, right after calling a sacramento water damage expert, lay each wet photo face up on any clean blotting paper, for example a paper towel. Do not use newspapers or printed paper towels, as the ink may transfer for your wet photos. Change the blotting paper every hour or two until the pictures dry. Attempt to dry the photos inside if possible, as sun and wind will cause pictures to curl much more quickly.
