Kill and overkill
It’s nice to have a powerful Rifle Scope but sometimes high power is overkill. First, the optics to add high magnificaiton to your rifle scope will add a lot of bulk to your rifle. It takes a lot of glass to bring your target in close without loosing the contrast and having the image washed out. To channel that much light to your eye, you really need a large objective lens. As the diameter of a lens increases, so too does the thickness at the center. Do you really want to be lugging all this excess weight with you up your stand? Sure, it’s OK when going to the range but you don’t have to carry your things very far during those days.
