A nice fresh layer of powder was waiting for us
We did a quick fly by at queenstown car rental to pick up the four wheel drive we had booked and then it was straight up the mountain to the awaiting snow. We were stoked when we heard that there had been a huge dumping of snow and fresh powder over night as it meant we were going to have awesome conditions for our first day there. As we were driving up the mountain road we really appreciated having a big four wheel drive because we probably wouldn’t have made it in a regular car because of the amount of snow and ice on the road. We managed to get up there safely on the first day and thankfully the road conditions were much better for the remaining days.
