Grandfather is flying in for a visit next week, and we are all a little nervous. He is a rather strange old gentleman. We have not seen him often throughout the years as he has chosen to live abroad doing archaeological research. Mom says that his studies were his real family when she was growing up. Anyway, she booked him into one of our Monterey Hotels because he said that he would need peace and quiet. It sounds like an unusual visit to me, but Mom is encouraged that he is going to all the trouble to come visit us because maybe he has decided it’s finally time to get to know his real family.
